About me

I am a landscape architecture student based in Fair Oaks, California, and a devoted husband to my wife, Natalie, and father to our two boys, Archie and Arthur. Family is the foundation of everything I do, and my career decisions including military service, cemetery operations, and returning to school have always centered on creating stability and opportunity for them.

Before entering the field of landscape architecture, I spent eight years serving in the U.S. Army as a Special Operations Logistician and Paratrooper, supporting missions across Thailand, Syria, and Eastern Europe. My work required precision, leadership, and problem solving under pressure, including infrastructure repair and logistical support for Special Operations teams. After returning to California, I transitioned into the funeral industry, where I advanced from Grave Digger to Grounds Foreman and eventually to Grounds Operations Manager, overseeing multiple cemeteries, mortuaries, and union crews. These combined experiences gave me a strong foundation in construction, land management, and team leadership, and deepened my interest in designing meaningful and functional outdoor spaces.

I am currently pursuing my Bachelor of Arts in Landscape Architecture at the Academy of Art University, with plans to continue into graduate school. My long term goal is to work with federal agencies such as the Department of Veterans Affairs or the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to design and improve veteran and national cemeteries. Ultimately, I hope to develop a new model for cemetery, chapel, and mortuary design that addresses the long term challenges I witnessed firsthand.

Outside of school and family, I enjoy activities that keep me connected to the outdoors such as hiking, fishing, and exploring local landscapes, as well as hands on hobbies like scale model building and home projects. These interests, combined with my professional background, continue to shape the way I approach design, stewardship, and the role of landscapes in everyday life.
